The IAAM Press and Publications Committee (IPPC), chaired by Larry Perkins, CFE was created to oversee and coordinate the publishing of IAAM intellectual properties by assisting IAAM members in publishing their own industry-related intellectual properties such as employee training manuals, “how to” manuals for facility operations, history of the facility publications, etc.

A portion of the royalties paid when any IAAM intellectual property is purchased will be directed to the IAAM Foundation. This project is a great way to give back while at the same time adding member value.

To participate in this special initiative, either as a single individual or as a facility management team, here are a few of the details the IPPC has developed that you need to know:
  • Our alliance with Lulu Press, Inc., through an innovative print-on-demand system, makes producing and publishing a manuscript or book a seamless experience for both the author/writer and the IPPC. This new, revolutionary technology eliminates the need for IAAM to raise start-up funds for publishing, carry an inventory, deliver books to purchasers, generate invoices or deal with returns. Lulu Press is also capable of publishing materials in other media such as DVDs.
  • There are quality control and copyright infringement issues that the IPPC are charged to review on behalf of IAAM. Not all materials submitted may be published under the IAAM intellectual property brand. IAAM may choose not to act as publisher or copyright holder of a member’s submission.
  • The IPPC and IAAM resources are limited. Therefore, the IPPC and IAAM staff will provide only limited assistance to members completing the publishing process through Lulu Press, Inc. which include very basic proofreading and assistance in formatting the manuscript to insure it is compatible with the Lulu Press prescribed formats. Members may choose to hire and pay for services such as a copy editor, graphic designer, layout artist, etc. through Lulu Press, or any other service provider of his/her choosing, to complete their individual publication to suit their own tastes.
  • A portion of the royalties generated from the sale of IAAM intellectual properties will automatically go to the IAAM Foundation, thanks to this new innovation.

The IPPC has created an Expression of Interest to Publish form to assist you. Simply click here and complete the form and you will be contacted by a Press and Publications Committee member to discuss your interest in publishing on behalf of IAAM.
