When the time comes, will you be ready to assist in a sheltering crisis? Hear about the Mega-shelter Assistance Team (MAT) program being created by the Red Cross and IAAM. Learn what it takes to volunteer. Learn about updated information on Mega-Shelters available as member resources.

Session Objectives:
Understand the MAT program, roles and duties you might fulfill as a MAT volunteer, and consider applying to the program.

Gain vital information regarding the MAT program and see how it may be of value in your community in a mega-shelter situation.

Review the standard (model) Memo of Understanding (MOU) that a venue manger has available to use when developing a mega-shelter preparedness plan in their community.
Learn how to develop a role and responsibility framework when your venue becomes a mega-shelter.
