In the 21st century it isn't "if" you are going to be involved,
it now is "how" am I going to be involved in the secondary ticketing market.
We all agree that delivering the best customer service to our ticket buyers
is a top priority, and our customers have come to expect this.
Ticket prices have been on a steady increase for many years. Tickets sold in
the secondary market have experienced a much greater increase in price, and
it can be argued that these increases are market driven. When will enough be
enough? Will there continue to be ticket buyers willing to wait until well
after an on-sale and pay premium prices to ticket brokers rather than stand
in line or stay on hold in hopes of getting good seats?
Ticket brokers are able to reap huge profits with little if any investment.
Should the venue share in any of the secondary ticket market revenue?
Should the promoter? Should the ticket service provider?
Come listen to this panel discuss the pros and cons of the secondary
ticketing market.
