Everyone you know is talking about it, so it’s
hardly “Silent,” is it? The annual IAAM Foundation Silent Auction will be held
on the trade show floor at the IAAM Annual Conference & Trade Show in San
Antonio, Texas, from August 5-8, 2006. You can participate in the Silent Auction
in two ways: by donating or by bidding on donations – or both!
This year’s Silent Auction chair, Barry Rappaport, has incorporated a new
dimension into the auction by offering exhibitors the chance to donate to the
auction by showcasing their newest product, service or idea. “I see this as a
creative way for our exhibitors to showcase their wares and to display their
products in a different format. What better way to gain exposure and get the
word out to our industry colleagues,” said Rappaport. Be on the lookout and
check your exhibitor kits for the auction form.
The sky is the limit…donate airline tickets, gift certificates, business
packages, sporting event tickets or what about donating consultation services?
Use your creativity. Not sure your product or service “works” for the Silent
Auction? Consider donating something that reflects the culture of your facility
or your company.
There’s still time to contribute to the auction. Go to
www.iaam.org, click 2006 Conference, Silent
Auction and download the auction form, or call Diana Franzetti at 800.935.4226.
Everyone Is A Winner At Foundation Friday
The real winners of the Foundation Friday golf tournament will be everyone who
participates in this year’s event scheduled to take place on Friday, August 4 at
both the Resort Course and Palmer Course at the Westin La Cantera Resort, home
of the PGA Tour’s Valero Texas Open. A 2005 Silver Medal Resort selection by
Golf Magazine, this hilltop course offers commanding panoramic views of downtown
San Antonio.
“Generating revenue for the IAAM Foundation – networking with allied and active
members and enjoying the natural splendor of the Texas Hill Country. There is no
better combination for a Friday in August,” said Dean Dennis, chairman of this
year’s Foundation Friday. “Golf committee co-chairs Chris Lamberth and Robert
Rayborn, have been hard at work with the local liaisons to make this year's
tournament extraordinary!”
Miller Brewing and Ticketmaster, who have been loyal supporters of IAAM
Foundation Friday for decades, return as tournament sponsors for 2006.
