Profile:
Daniel is an executive with more than 19 years
of experience in operating stadiums, arenas, theaters, convention facilities
and major special events. He oversees the day-to-day operations of Fair
Park, a national historic landmark in Dallas. Fair Park, under management by
the City of Dallas Park and Recreation Department, attracted 6.2 million
visitors in 2007. Built for the 1936 Texas Centennial, the park is home to
Cotton Bowl Stadium, nine museums, Fair Park Music Hall and Superpages.com
Center.
Mentors: His father, Martin M.
Huerta; Paul Dyer, director of Dallas Park and Recreation; and Eddie Hueston,
director
of facilities for Richland College.

Volunteer Experience: A past board
member of the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau, Daniel is a board member
of the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association and YMCA’s Get a Move On, and he
serves as vice president of East Kessler
Park Neighborhood Association. Daniel is also an active member of IAAM,
serving on both the Membership and Diversification committees.
Education: Master’s degree in
recreation administration from Texas Woman’s University and bachelor of arts
in sociology from Texas Tech University.
Hobbies: Daniel enjoys collecting
hand- blown American glass as well as participating in outdoor recreation,
especially hiking, backpacking, camping, white-water rafting and scuba
